Is there a minimum number of people required to book The Ranch facilities?
The Ranch has a minimum requirement of 80 adult meals.
How long can I hold a date?
Proposals are held on a tentative basis only. If we receive a firm booking request for the date you have held, you will have 1 full business day to confirm your booking. In order to be considered confirmed you must provide the required deposit, credit card on file and sign the contract.
What if I am ready to confirm?
A contract for catering is only confirmed once Lone Star Ranch & Catering receives the signed contract, a credit card number and a deposit. For weddings booked more than 1 year in advance, the non-refundable deposit of the value of the site rental is required to secure the date.
What if I want to make a change to the proposal?
No problem! Just tell us what you want and we’ll do our best to make it happen. Obviously changes to contracted items can have an impact on pricing.
Can I see The Ranch?
Absolutely! Just give us a call and we will schedule a visit.
Do I have a Wedding Coordinator assigned to me?
Our Coordinators will be communicating and confirming all the preliminary essentials, then 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding day, the Coordinator assigned to you will contact you personally and arrange a final walk-through of the site.
Can I bring my own food & beverage?
With the exception of your wedding cake, special dietary considerations and kosher food, all other food and beverages must be procured through Lone Star Ranch and Catering services. Cake service charges apply. When special dietary food service and kosher foods required exceed 5% of the total attendance or 10 persons (whichever is the lesser number) a service fee will apply.
What if I prefer a specific wine or champagne?
Just let us know 30 days in advance and we will arrange a special order for you. Please note that some restrictions do apply.
Can I decorate?
Absolutely! We just ask that no permanent adhesives are used and no holes are made. Also, as they are your decorations, please be sure to take them with you when you leave. Balloons and mylar confetti are not permitted outside the hall due to sensitivity to the animals.
How about bringing my own centerpieces?
No problem! All we ask is that if your centerpiece has a candle, the flame is not exposed.
Does Lone Star have a banquet facility?
No, we have two!
The Lone Star Ranch & Catering Saloon is located at 4420 Hunt Club Road West and seats 200 people in the winter season. During warmer weather, it can accommodate up to 2000 people.
The Bradley Lodge is located at 670 Cedarview Drive and seats up to 48 people.
Both facilities are available to rent exclusively and prices vary based on the season and services required.
Is there a minimum number of people required to book the facilities?
Nope! Instead, we have a minimum food order requirement in addition to the facility rental and service fees. For a complete price list click here.
Can I bring my own food and/or beverages to The Ranch/Lodge?
With the exception of wedding or special event cakes (cake service charges apply), special dietary considerations and kosher food, all other food and beverages must be procured through Lone Star Ranch and Catering services. Can Lone Star accommodate special dietary and allergy concerns?
Special menu requests and allergy concerns should be provided at least two weeks prior to your event. We will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. It is important to note however that due to the potential for cross-contamination and potential traces of allergens in sauces, marinades, cooking processes and menu adaptations we cannot guarantee the absence of any allergen. For significant allergic sensitivities we recommend you provide your own food products.
Does Lone Star provide bar services?
We provide full bar service in all of our facilities however, we require a minimum bar sale of $300.00 before taxes and our liquor license requires a minimum of 10 days notification. Our entire staff is Smart Serve certified and a 15% gratuity will apply to all host bars.
Does Lone Star have team entertainment activities?
Shore do! At the Ranch, we have been developing new programs for every season and every meeting style. In the spirit of the Old West, where everyone pulled together to get the job done, we have created a wide variety of programs, one of which is sure to fit your requirements and help you meet your objectives. You can choose from our current entertainment &activities list or work with our facilitators to customize activities to meet your needs. If you are looking for more intensive teambuilding activities we are happy to recommend a variety of options provided by our preferred suppliers.
Does Lone Star BBQ on site?
We cook on-site for most items on our True Texas BBQ menus, however a minimum of 50 adult BBQ orders are required. Please note that BBQ season runs from May 1st - September 30th and due to weather concerns, we cannot guarantee BBQ service beyond those dates.
What is required to book a catered event?
Once your date and requirements have been confirmed you will receive a detailed contract. Your booking is considered firm when we have received your signed contract, required deposits and credit card on file for your event.
Is there a minimum number of people required to do a catering job outside of Lone Star’s own premises?
We do not require a minimum number of people to do a catered event. Instead, we have a minimum food order requirement and service charges. For a complete price list, click here.
Does Lone Star provide bar services?
We are able to provide bar service in almost any location, provided it does not already have an existing liquor license and is not a private residence. Our liquor license requires a minimum of 10 days notification and in some locations, rental of special equipment may be needed. We require a minimum bar sale of $500.00 before taxes and a 15% gratuity applies to all host bars. Please note, we only provide bar service when we are serving alcohol procured under our liquor license. Our staff is entirely Smart Serve certified.
Does Lone Star provide services at a private home or facility?
Lone Star can do just about anything, anywhere! From casual gatherings to high-end black and white events.
How far is Lone Star willing to travel?
As a rule, we do not provide service to events outside of the Greater Ottawa area, however this is subject to the number of people, type of menu and location/distance of your event and availability. Some events may require us to rent additional vehicles or equipment. The best thing to do is contact us and we’ll work out all those details with y’all!

What is the difference between delivery and service on-site? Delivery: You provide the table and one of our workers will provide and set up the food, including disposable paper plates, napkins, cutlery and a plastic disposable table cloth. Please note: Delivery charges apply and servers on-site are not provided with a delivery.
Service on-site: For most events that include service, we do provide our own buffet tables, the equipment necessary for the buffet line and any type of cooking equipment required on site (for large groups some additional equipment rental may be required). Fees for set-up, service and tear down will be charged accordingly depending on menu, service style, location and timing. Service staff set up the buffet tables, arrange all food items, service the buffet to assist with portion control, clean up during and after the meal and remove all equipment prior to departure. The number of staff required to work a function will depend on the number of guests attending and the meal you are serving as well as set up and tear down requirements.
Does Lone Star have off-site wedding menu packages?
While we do not have specific off-site wedding menu packages, we are happy to customize a menu for you whether it's a small corporate function, a themed party or a wedding. Services provided can include the procurement of rental equipment on your behalf however please note we can also provide our staff services to set up any equipment that you arrange to rent directly (separate fees do apply for these services).
